What you need to know about the e-travel system for flights

The Pandemic lead to many things, including the OHP or One Healthy Pass, a mandatory health declaration or travel certificate for Filipinos and foreigners traveling in and out of the Philippines.

Starting April 15, 2023, a new design replaces the OHP and several of its iterations: the e-travel system by the Bureau of Immigration. The all-in-one platform aims for smooth immigration clearance procedures, management between border agencies, health declarations, and contract tracing.

e-Travel: A Brief Summary

E-travel replaces the departure cards. All inbound and outbound travelers can fill in all their departure details through the system. However, this is not limited to passengers, as inbound crew members must also register on the e-Travel website.

Outbound passengers must register at least 72 hours before their flight. If a passenger fails to register, the passenger may still fill out a departure card available at immigration.

How To Register

Step 1: Passport Type

You can visit the website at https://etravel.gov.ph/, where you will choose your passport type, whether Filipino or Foreign.

The other fields in the form are your travel type (arriving or departing) and transportation type (sea or air). Complete the form with your email address and consent to the Data Privacy and Affidavit of Undertaking.

Step 2: Personal Information

The next page is where you fill in your Personal Profile. Here, you'll be required to enter your full name, gender, date of birth, country of birth, and citizenship. You must also provide your passport number, occupation, and mobile number.

Step 3: Address Information and Travel Information

Provide the necessary information, such as your permanent residence. Make sure to provide accurate information to avoid double-checking at immigration. Also provide your travel information. Here, you'll indicate details about your trip, such as your purpose of travel, airline, flight number, etc.

Step 4: Health Declaration

On this page, you must provide your accurate Vaccination Details, such as your date of vaccination, your health status in the last 30 days, your history of exposure to COVI D- 19, and if you have had a negative antigen test in the last 24 hours.

Step 5: Review your Info

You can review the information you gave for some revisions and edits. After a thorough review, click "Submit" and you're ready for the last step.

Step 6: QR Code

After registration, you will be presented with a QR code. Depending on the information you provided, it will either be green or red. GREEN QR codes indicate that you are clear to travel. In contrast, RED QR codes mean that an officer from the Bureau of Quarantine will manually inspect your documents and determine if you will be put through quarantine or further testing.

If your QR code is green, simply download a copy of your QR code through the website portal or the email sent to you.

Keep In Mind

  • Registration is entirely free. Don't fall for websites and artic les that say otherwise.
  • You won't need to download an app or anything, it can be accessed through a browser on your phone or PC.
  • Register 72 hours before your flight for one less worry to think about when you get to the airport.

For a hassle-free experience, remember to create an account on time and provide accurate information so your travel experience can start with smiles instead of headaches.

It's easy to register, it'll save you time in immigration, and it will help the government's efforts to keep the nation protected from the spread of COVID-1 9.
